19 - Totentanz
🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃
Keith decided to throw a Halloween party that is secretly dedicated to Kaz. And he also decided to do a fatal step back into the past... putting on his perfect mask, dressing up, and getting high.
You may have already noticed, but Keith isn't a reasonable character. The things he does are often wrong and also a bit stupid (sorry, Keith XD). I think it’s logical that he couldn’t maintain his abstinence any longer after everything that’s happened.
I worked really hard to get this done in time... and even though I needed a ridiculously long amount of time to plan Keiths outfit, I had a lot of fun dressing him up. Fyi: Keiths Outfit is mainly inspired by a coat from Punkrave. Gabs Outfit is heavily inspired by the Countess from AHS Season 5.
There's also a few thoughts I've put into Keiths costume: a corset, so he can finally look the way he wants again; contact lenses to hide his drug consume (dilation of the pupils); his choice to dress as a demon because he thinks that's what he was for Kaz.
"Totentanz" means something like "Death Dance" in English, but I liked the German word much more. It's also a small homage to a Goth event from ancient times, where I had some of my very first baby steps in the Goth subculture. XD

Ah, this was delicious. Keith is indeed not a reasonable, safe-loving man - and I think that is a trait I can respect ;) Gab could easily see through Keith's mind, his pain and desperation, his darkness and he is dragged to it, like to a drug.
I am so curious how their dark love/relation will look, bit once is certain, it will be painful, intense and strong - stronger than common sense and death itself.
Beautiful arts too. I always admire how you draw these two.

Wow :D This Halloween-themed chapter fits perfectly with where the story is right now! I have to admit, it could easily pass as the next installment ^^. You’ve portrayed Keith’s broken state brilliantly — even though he performed the ritual and hasn’t seen Kaz’s spirit since, he still turns to drugs. Perhaps he’s trying to escape his pain, or maybe he just wants to feel something good for once. At the same time, from the imagery, I got the sense that he actually misses Kaz’s ghost — even if he expects retribution from him. I was surprised when Gab revealed that it had been him haunting Keith all along. And Keith’s reaction — bold, reckless, and honest all at once — creates a beautiful contrast with his usual sober, withdrawn, quietly self-tormenting nature. A brilliant chapter! I can’t wait to see how his relationship with Gab will develop, and whether Keith will finally confront Jurji. (Also, the outfits and makeup designs you created for the characters are absolutely gorgeous and fitting!)
Not me calling out "No!" to the screen when Keith decided to imbibe after staying clean for such a long time 🫣. But everything that transpired was bound to be a trigger, especially without a support group. To quote my favourite show "Elementary", it was all a giant gun filled with drugs pointed at him.

Even I thought "oh no, why are you so stupid, Keith?" while I drew this. 🥲 But you're right, there were too many triggers - that quote fits so well! Keith is able to overcome his self-doubt in this drugged state, which actually shows a bit more about his real personality without the depressions a bit. uu
